Perth is known for its spectacular natural surroundings as well as a great city vibe with many fun suburbs to venture around in. It is Australia’s sunniest capital so it is a perfect climate to discover raw nature at its best and also have fun in the entertaining city.

While you can visit great museums and see cool shows in the city, you can finish your days on the beach watching the sunset. Or you can swim with wild dolphins or head out to the nearby wineries to taste some amazing local wine.

There is so much to see and do that three days might not be enough. But to make sure you truly get to see the coolest spots in Perth, we’ve created this guide so you can spend 72 very unforgettable hours here.

Day One

Start your stay off in Perth with a delicious breakfast in a spectacular spot. Mister Walker, or Mr W for short, is a must visit while in town. Not only can you enjoy some fantastic food to begin your Perth adventure, but the views of the Perth skyline will get you excited about the days ahead exploring this cool city.  Breakfast starts at 8 am with great coffee and deliciously fresh food! Consider returning again for sunset drinks. This spot is unlike any other in town!

Find your way to Number7 Old Aberdeen Place. Here they are showcasing some great WA owned and operated small businesses. Soggybones is one of the businesses here, and you have to check it out. Make sure to bring home some cool t-shirts or a Perth special skateboard deck!

Next, get your Chinese fix for lunch. We know just the place to get the awesome taste of your favourite Chinese dishes! BamBamBoo have dim sum, noodles dumplings, BBQ meats and whatever else you can think off. Not only is it incredibly delicious it is also very affordable, so you don’t need to break the bank to get an authentic taste of China right in the city of Perth. With an open kitchen you can see your food being prepared, and it’s evident that the food is cared for and the ingredients respected.

It is time for a cold drink in a great spot. Having one of the best beer gardens in Australia, Brisbane Hotel will be your next stop on your first day in Perth. It is a historic spot, being almost 120 years old. Lazy Susan’s Comedy is right upstairs which is the oldest comedy theatre in town, with comedy 3 nights a week so make sure to check that out while you’re there!

This evening you’ll head to Print Hall which is Perth’s most diverse multi-level entertainment, dining, function & event venue. It is located in the heart of Brookfield Place. This is also a cool historic building which almost unfolds as a book as each level becomes a chapter. Eat a great meal here, try a delicious cocktail, venture around and soak it all in. This is charming Perth at its best!

It is time for bed on your first day so you’ll be ready for more adventures tomorrow. Book one of the many different rooms at Kangaroo Inn. Kangaroo Inn is one of Perth’s most awarded accommodations. They just recently won bronze for standard accommodation in Perth as part of the Western Australia Tourism Awards. However, this is not your regular backpacker accommodation even though the prices are as good as a hostel. You will get great hotel comfort and the same hospitality as in an Inn. Day Two

Start the second day with a beautiful walk in the gardens of Willow Pond. There is no better place to enjoy a sunny day in Perth. While here make sure you go see their Martial Art Museum which is by the restaurant. After having a look around the museum you can finish with a delicious meal in their restaurant. Perth is known for its nature and sunshine, so it is only fitting you have a sunny walk to begin your second day in Perth.

Two options today depending on what you’re into. Maybe even both! Either head to The Nostalgia Box which is a super cool gaming museum. The idea behind this museum is to recapture the joyful childhood memories we all have of playing video games with your friends and siblings. The name is perfect as you will surely be very nostalgic stepping into this museum. Another option today is that you can go to Gingerella Rox to be pampered with a makeover. Gingerella Rox, which is located in Joondalup, specializes in eyebrows, and they do some of the best work in Australia. Who knows maybe you can leave Perth with a brand new gorgeous look.

Next, head over to Northbridge which is Perth’s cultural and entertainment hub. Walk around here for a bit to explore and then find a seat at Northbridge Brewing Co. You won’t miss it as it is one of the most iconic buildings in the area designed by an award-winning Perth-based firm, D4. With multiple levels go find your ideal spot, we recommend the rooftop Skydeck. So rest your feet while enjoying one (or three) of their innovative different and seasonal brews.

Time for another food adventure and this time your taste buds are going to Cambodia. My Bayon offers authentic home cooking all the way from Cambodia to Perth. The love and passion put into the food makes you feel like you stepped into a true Cambodian home being fed by locals. They serve recipes which have been passed down many generations. The food is also a fusion of Western vibes and Thai and Vietnamese influence. But is is mainly the powerful flavours of Cambodia. You will want to stay and eat all night long!

Before even heading to Perth you have to make sure you book tickets to the Jazz Cellar. Jazz Cellar is an awesome little gem in Mount Hawthorn, and it has been selling out week after week every Friday night for over 20 years. If this doesn’t tell you this is a place you must check out we don’t know what will. There is always a rare ambiance here making it the place to hang out. Don’t miss this!

Now it’s time for a great party atmosphere on this second night in Perth. For this, put your dancing shoes on, and go to Air Night Club. From a super stylish design and decor to cool friendly bartenders you will want to stay and dance all night long. This nightclub is like stepping aboard a luxurious airplane – FIRST class! So go ahead and take flight, this is the place to be!


Day Three

Time for some cultural expression to begin your final day in Perth. If you’re traveling with kids you’ll first make your way to Children’s School of Contemporary Art. Offering Holiday Workshops and many different programs your kids are without a doubt going to have fun expressing themselves through art. After this it is time for yourself to express your creative side. The Performance School is the place to do just that. The WA Performance School is Perth’s premier performing art academy. They offer tuition in a variety of styles of dance, music, theatre and more for local kids. But they also offer adult classes where you can try out one of your favourites dance styles like ballet, tap dance, cabaret and much more. You are welcome whether you’re looking for a future in dance or theatre, or just want to have fun. Their philosophy is that dance and performance is for everyone, and the only prerequisite should be PASSION!

Feel like another meal with a view? For your final lunch go to Isle of Voyage located in Elizabeth Quay which is a new area of Perth. It is located on a little ‘island’ right at the Swan River meaning you can enjoy a yummy meal looking over the Swan and back into Perth city. The view of Perth skyline is worth a visit in itself, but Isle of Voyage also serves amazing food. So find your spot in the sun, kick back with a cold beverage and a yummy meal. If you’re traveling with kids there is a great playground just next to the restaurant.

This afternoon go to Swallow Bar. Especially on Sundays this is the place to be! Sundays is when they have a Live Music Session with fabulous live and free local music. However, no matter if you’re in Perth on a Sunday or not, this cool spot is a place to hang for the night. You can sip drinks in the dark wooden bar, old Art deco train booth or head out in the sunny Perth afternoon sun in their awesome courtyard.

So go have yourself a glorious time listening to some live music with a cold brew reminiscing on all the fun you’ve had the past 72 hours.
