Pick up a rental car directly at the Phoenix Airport and make your way to the orange coloured land. The Grand Canyon itself has operating hours and seasons to know before you book your trip. The South Rim is open all year round, though, some facilities located there may close during the winter months. The North Rim is open for public travel from May 15 until October 15 and reservations for lodging is strongly recommended during these months.
