Changhai has a north temperate continental monsoon climate. It is the warmest of all northeast China. Summer is the hottest month with average of 75.2°F while January as the coldest month has an average below freezing. Majority of the rainfall falls during the summer with intense and frequent showers at night.The best time to visit Changhai is April to October, but especially from April to June when the weather is warm enough to swim in the sea, cherry blossoms and strawberries are peaking, and seafood is cheap and abundant. Summer is peak tourist season but watch out for the monsoons.
