Machu Picchu Flights Guide

Machu PIcchu, located in Peru, is a National Sanctuary, phenomenal for ancient history lovers. Known best for being the home of the Incas, you'll find several archaeological sites, monuments, and ancient ruins from thousands of years ago. Explore ancient temples, tombs, and sacred sites and experience the rich history first hand.

Getting to Machu PIcchu requires a shuttle from Aguas Calientes, the town at its base. Once in Machu Picchu, the best way to get around is on foot. Trains come to Aguas Calientes from surrounding larger cities, so flying here then taking transit to the town is the best way to visit.

Because Machu PIcchu is so high above ground, the temperature is relatively cool, depending on the area. Temperatures don't exceed 20? and drop to freezing during the winter months. The best time to visit Machu PIcchu is from September to November when the weather is calmest and the temperatures are comfortable. The most rain falls in the summer (Dec-JAn) and it dries up during the winter (May-August). It is best to plan your trip during the drier months as to fully experience all of the sites Machu PIcchu has to offer.
