Samos has close ties to Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras with the ancient Pythagorion harbour bearing his name. Check out the historical displays at Samos Archaeological Museum before relaxing at one of the many Samos beaches including Kokkari, Mikro Seitani and Balos Beaches. Visit the Aqueduct of Eupalinos, one of the former wonders of the world, built in sixth century BC.

Samos has a Mediterranean climate with with dry summers and wet winters. Summer brings an average high of 27 degrees celsius and 10 degrees in the winter. The summer months from June through September brings the warmest weather with a lot of sunshine while the autumn months brings milder weather with warm sea temperatures making it an ideal time for travel. The winter months from December through February are cool and wet with the colder temperatures making the sea unfit for swimming.
