Seattle, located on Puget Sound in Washington State, is a major city in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The Space Needle is perhaps Seattle's most recognizable attraction. The Seattle Center Monorail shuttles you between the Seattle Center and downtown, where you can visit the Pike Place Market and find fresh fruits, vegetables, and floral arrangements; eateries; and locally crafted jewelry, clothing, and gifts.

Seattle offers direct flights to Spokane, Portland, Eugene (OR), and Vancouver (Canada). You can also take the train to Spokane and Portland. You can take a mix of train and bus to Eugene and Vancouver. You can also drive to all the aforementioned cities. Seattle is a short drive away from Tacoma and nearby Mount Rainier National Park.

July and August are the hottest and driest months of the year with averages in the low-70s and less than one inch of rain. November to March are the coldest and wettest months of the year.The best time to fly to Seattle is at the end of the summer and the beginning of fall in September and October. The weather has cooled slightly but it's not cold yet and the crowds have returned home so expect to find lower rates than you would during the peak season of summer.
