Tenerife is the largest of the Spanish Canary Islands and is home to historic towns and tropical landscapes. Teide National Park has trails for you to explore but the visit isn't complete without a cable car ride to the stunning summit. Getting around the island is easy by using the local Titsa busses but having your own car is best for exploring with car hires available in Tenerife. Tenerife is also serviced by two major airports with connections leading to major cities like Madrid and Barcelona and European cities including Amsterdam and Paris.
Tenerife has optimal weather patterns year round making it easy to visit from January through December. Average temperatures fall between 15 and 24 degrees celsius. Temperatures are at its hottest during the months of May, June and July and is a great time to visit as the sea breeze often keeps the air cool. Note that crowds are larger during this time of year as the holidays make it a popular time to visit. For a quieter trip, visit during the months of September through December to take advantage of lower travel costs.
