US Virgin Islands Flights GuideThe US Virgin Islands are comprised of islands and islets a ways off the coast of Puerto Rico. They are recognized as a US territory and boast white-sand beaches, coral reefs, and lush vegetation for the beach-going visitor. The capital, Charlotte Amalie, is located in St. Thomas, while Virgin Islands National Park is located on St. John. St. John is also home to Trunk Bay, site of a 225-yard long snorkeling trail. The other island, St. Croix, features cute, local-feels and offer a little more seclusion from the more commonly-known larger islands.
The US Virgin Islands enjoy a tropical climate with very predictable weather patterns. The highest levels of rain occur between the months of May and October, and the country averages temperatures between 25 C and 30 C (77 F-86 F) year-round. Visitors to the Islands can choose from two major international airports, Cyril E. King Airport and Henry E. Rohlsen, located on St. Thomas and St. Croix, respectively.
