When booking a self-transfer trip and traveling with baggage, make sure you allow enough time to collect your bags, reach the check-in area, drop them off again, and pass through security to reach your next gate.

Here’s a general guide:

• Without baggage: At least 1 hour for domestic flights, or 1 hour and 30 minutes for international ones.
• With baggage: At least 2 hours to go through baggage claim, re-check your bags, and clear security.
• Connecting from a different airport: Allow at least 5 hours, with or without baggage.

Keep in mind that managing your baggage and getting to your next departure gate or airport on time is your responsibility. If you miss your connecting flight, the rest of your trip may be canceled.
